PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Following two more wins last week, the Pace University women's basketball team stayed at No. 3 in the most recent D2SIDA East Region Poll. The Setters currently hold an 11-1 record this season, including a 5-0 mark in the NE10.
After decisive triumphs over the College of Staten Island (75-52) and Southern Connecticut State (67-49), the Blue and Gold have now totaled the most wins in the East Region.
Pace is currently on a six-game winning streak, having won those games by an average of 17.5 points. The Blue and Gold own eight victories this season by double figures.
Individually,
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) has been spectacular for Pace. The graduate forward currently leads the NE10 in both points per game (22.9) and field-goal percentage (54.6%).
Remarkable enough, Schetter has also made and attempted the most shots in the NE10 this season. She is also averaging 8.8 rebounds per contest, which ranks sixth in the conference.
Senior
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) joins Schetter as one of Pace's offensive catalysts. The Long Island native ranks third in the NE10 in assists per game (5.3), while also averaging 10.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals per outing.
Defense has been key to the Setters' success. Pace leads the NE10 in points-per-game allowed (54.4) and opponents' field-goal percentage (34.5%).
The Setters will return to action on Wednesday night (1/5) when they travel to take on Le Moyne.
