PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University softball team has been voted to finish eighth in the Northeast-10 Conference standings, according to the NE10's Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Thursday.
The 2022 campaign will mark the 41st season in the dugout for Setters' head coach
Claudia Stabile. Stabile, who is one of just 19 active head coaches with 750 career wins, is also the longest tenured coach across all divisions of NCAA Softball.
Coach Stabile's squad will boast many familiar names this spring, including 12 returning players that saw action during the 2021 campaign.
The Setters' most experienced returners come in the form of senior outfielder
Arielle Acosta (Union City, Calif./Moreau Catholic High School) and graduate pitcher
Mackenzie Garrick (South River, N.J./South River).
Acosta, who was named to the NE10's All-Conference First Team as a freshman, has posted a .299 batting average in 72 career games.
Garrick, now in her fifth year, has racked up 219.2 innings pitched, 15 wins and 80 strikeouts in 48 career appearances.
Pace's 2022 class of seniors features Acosta,
Zoie Iverson (Oregon City, Ore./Alliance Charter Academy/ Oregon City High School),
NancyAnn Revilla (Staten Island, N.Y./Port Richmond), and
Brittany Walkingstick (Peculiar, Mo./Desert Ridge / Mesa Community College).
