PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – As preparations continue for their season-opener on Feb. 22, the Pace University men's lacrosse team has moved up to No. 8 in the most recent USILA National Coaches Poll released on Monday.
The Setters will begin their new campaign with the momentum of a terrific 2019 on their side. Pace registered a 13-4 record last spring to mark the program's highest win total since 1999.
The Blue and Gold were ranked in every USILA National Poll last season, climbing to as high as No. 6 before ultimately ending the year in the No. 11 spot.
Pace returns a huge majority of players from its 2019 squad, including preseason All-America selection,
Daniel Lewis (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot). Lewis anchored the Setters' defense a year ago, leading the team with 38 caused turnovers.
The NE10 Rookie of the Year,
Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown), is also back for the Blue and Gold. Ragusa started all of Pace's games in net in 2019, posting a 13-4 record while ranking third in the NE10 in total saves (182).
