Pace Athletics Launches Alumni Mentoring Program

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University Athletics Department has announced the start of a new Athletics Mentoring Program where current student-athletes can work with athletic-alumni who can offer guidance, help improve special skills, aid in goal-setting, and much more.

The Pace University Alumni-Student Mentoring Program, an online platform now in its third year, facilitates academic and career-related conversations between current Pace students and alumni. The new Athletics mentoring initiative allows student-athletes to select athletic-alumni as mentors through the same platform. In addition, special mentoring events, and career-building opportunities will bring together current student-athletes and athletics-alumni for a targeted mentoring experience

Shared experiences provide common ground and an easy start to build a mentoring relationship. Student-athletes can work with alumni who have an understanding of the unique challenges student-athletes face as they pursue success on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. The online platform offers a seamless pairing, benefits, and flexibility to best suit schedules and preferences of mentors and mentees. Needs that range from year-long partnerships to one-time conversations to help ace that upcoming job interview can be addressed.

The establishment of the Athletics Mentorship Program is the latest development in the partnership of  Pace Athletics and the Office of Development & Alumni Relations to advance the experience of student-athletes at Pace.

Information about how to join the Pace Network and the university's Alumni-Student Mentoring Program can be found here. Athletic alumni interested in becoming a mentor can contact Dana Burr, Mentoring Program Manager, at dburr2@pace.edu or 212-346-1395 for additional information.
