About the Setters
Pace enters the postseason following a 15-13 regular season, which included an 11-9 run inside the NE10. The Blue and Gold earned the No. 3 seed in the Southwest Division behind Southern Connecticut State University and Le Moyne College. It has been a year of stretches for the Setters, who began the season with three-straight wins and have also recorded two separate five-game win streaks. Pace is 8-7 in true road games this year.
Balanced Attack
The Blue and Gold boast five different players who are averaging at least 8.8 points per contest. Junior guard
Alexandra Monteleone (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) leads the way for Pace and ranks 16th in the NE10, averaging 12.3 points per game.
Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, NY/Commack) (10.5),
Gabriella Rubin (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) (9.1),
Geena Rosalbo (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) (9.1), and
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, NY/Beacon High School) (8.8) have also been major contributors in picking up the offensive slack. Rosalbo is tied for fourth in the NE10 in three-point shooting at 37.7 percent.
Â
Stingy Setters
In addition to keeping teams guessing offensively, Pace has put together one of the best defenses in the NE10. The Setters rank fourth in the league in both steals (8.8) and points allowed per game (57.8), while leading the league in opponents' three-point shooting percentage (25.1 percent).
Â
Close Losses
Six of Pace's nine NE10 defeats this season have come by seven points or fewer. The Setters also dropped a tight "non-conference" matchup to No. 18 Stonehill in December (67-63).
Â
Tournament History
The Setters are 11-15 all-time in 15 NE10 Tournament appearances, reaching a pair of semifinals and finishing as the runner-up in 2007.
