Brandon Donnellan Named to USILA/Nike Division I/II Senior All-Star North Roster

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior defenseman Brandon Donnellan (Chester, NY/Warwick Valley) of the No. 5-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team was selected to play in the 76th Annual United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)/Nike North-South Division I/II All-Star Game, which will be played at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College on Friday, May 26.

LIVE STREAM AVAILABLE HERE

Donnellan was chosen to play for the Division I/II North Team, and is one of just six Division II student-athletes to be picked for the 30-man roster. He will be just the third-ever Pace student-athlete to play in the annual North-South All-Star Game, joining Pace Hall of Famers Marcus Mayus and Andrew Wasik, who played in 1999 and 2001, respectively. The Division I/II Game will be played on Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m., following the Division III All-Star Game. The North team will be coached by Providence College Head Coach Chris Gabrielli.

Donnellan has been a force on defense for four seasons now, illustrated by his four Northeast-10 All-Conference selections. This season, Donnellan led the NE10 with 30 caused turnovers, and his 52 ground balls were tied for fourth in the conference among non-faceoff specialists. He also scored one goal and provided an assist. Donnellan netted the game-winning goal in Pace's victory over then-No. 4 New York Institute of Technology early in the season. The Setters' team captain was also picked to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) At-Large Academic All-District™ First Team, and was picked as the 2017 Pace Athletics Co-Male Athlete of the Year and one of two Darrell Halloran Memorial Award Winners.

The USILA/Nike North-South games are an excellent opportunity for the senior student-athletes to finish their collegiate career and carry on the tradition. This tradition started in 1940 and has been played every year with the exception of 1944 and 1945. These games will bring together over 120 of the finest senior men's lacrosse players in the country.

Tickets for family and guests can be purchased at the game. The North-South game kicks off a Memorial Day Weekend filled with lacrosse in New England as the 2017 NCAA Lacrosse Semifinals and Championships will be held 25 miles north of Providence at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
