Box Score GAME TWO CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN
EASTON, Mass.- MacKenzie King (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren) (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren) tossed a seven inning complete game in a rain-shorten 7-1 win over the Skyhawks of Stonehill. Game two was cancelled due to rain. The Setters finish the season at 16-28-1 overall and 6-19 in the Northeast-10, while the Skyhawks fall to 30-16 and 13-11 in conference play.
Pace got on the board in the second inning as Kenny Wright (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) and Chris Roemer (Ardsley, NY/Ardsley) (Ardsley, NY/Ardsley) both had two-run singles to give the Setters a 4-0 lead. Wright tacked on a run in the fifth with RBI single to score Joe Lombardi (Briarcliff, NY/Briarcliff) (Briarcliff, NY/Briarcliff), who doubled.
The Skyhawks got on the board in the fifth but Pace tacked on two more runs in the in eighth on RBI singles by Robert Horn (Stamford, CT/Westhill) (Stamford, CT/Westhill) and Glen Johnson (Hobe Sound, FL/South Fork) for a 7-1 Setter lead. The rain would come, stopping the game in the top of the eighth inning.
King (4-4) tossed a two-hitter in his final collegiate outing, while striking out four in the game. Wright went 3-for-3 on the day with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Lombardi went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.
