HARTFORD, Conn.- The Pace women's basketball fell 85-35 in an exhibition game against Division I University of Connecticut Huskies in a game played at Hartford's XL Center.

In the opening half, Maral Javadifar (Flushing, NY/The Mary Louis Academy) (Flushing, NY/Mary Louis Academy) led the Setters with 10 points. The Huskies took an early 14-9 lead before using a 9-2 run to pull ahead 23-11 with 8:08 left in the half. Connecticut would take a 36-21 lead into the halftime break.

The Huskies opened the second half on a 25-6 run to extend their lead to 61-27 midway through the second half as the Setters were limited to 14 points in the final 20 minutes.

For Pace, Javadifar led the way with 14 points, while Brittany Shields (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) totaled nine points, four boards and four assists.

The Setters officially tip-off their 2011-12 season as they will travel to the University of Bridgeport on Sunday, November 13 at 6 pm.
