NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.- The Setters pulled away in the second half as they defeated the Warriors of Merrimack College 65-54 in NE-10 action. Pace improves to 15-4 overall and 9-4 in the NE-10, while the Warriors fall to 7-9 and 5-7 in conference play.

In a close first half, Carol Johnson's (New City, NY/Cardinal Spellman) (New City, NY/Cardinal Spellman) lay-up with 19 seconds left tied the game at 29 at the break. The half featured eight tied and nine lead changes.

The second half started out like the first half with the score staying close over the first five minutes of play. With Pace leading 38-36 at the 15:53 mark, the Setters would break the game open with 17-0 run as Brittany Huggins (Windsor, CT/Windsor) (Windsor, CT/Windsor) nailed a pair of trifectas, while Kerri White (Flushing, NY/Archbishop Molloy) (Flushing, NY/Archbishop Molloy/Manhattan College) scored five points in the run. White's triple at the 6:09 mark gave the Setters their biggest lead of the game at 55-36 as Pace would hold on for the double-digit win.

Pace was led by Brittany Shields (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) who finished with 16 points, five boards and four assists. White came off the bench to score 12 points and record six steals. Allison Cleary (Windsor, NY/Cornwall Central) netted 11 points, while Huggins tallied 10 points and five rebounds.

The Setters return to action on Tuesday, January 25 when Pace will host UMass Lowell in a Northeast-10 Conference game against at 5:30 pm.
