FLEMINGTON, NJ- The Pace University baseball team used a three-run rally in the sixth inning to beat out the Spartans of Saint Thomas Aquinas College 3-1. The Setters improve their record to 3-6 overall with their third straight win, while the Spartans fall to 2-4 in their season.

Chris Roemer (Ardsley, NY/Ardsley) (Ardsley, NY/Ardsley) hit a double of his own to drive in the game's first run. Brandon Martineson (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) would follow in Roemer's footsteps with another double to make the score 2-0.

After Martineson advanced to third on a fly ball, Patrick Chaputian (Sea Cliff, NY/North Shore) (Sea Cliff, NY/North Shore) would drive Martineson home after grounding out to the pitcher to give Pace a 3-0 advantage.

In the seventh, the Spartans would respond by driving in their first and only run, but the Setters would take home the victory after Frank Luongo (West Harrison, NY/Harrison) (West Harrison, NY/Harrison) shut down the Spartans 1-2-3 in the ninth inning, striking out two, to earn his second save of the season.
