Box Score PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Brittany Huggins (Windsor, CT/Windsor) (Windsor, CT/Windsor) led the Setters with 17 point as Pace remained unbeaten in early season action as they defeated St. Thomas Aquinas 67-59 in non-conference action. The Setters improve to 3-0 overall, while the Spartans fall to 2-2.
The Setters led in early action but the Spartans would hit a pair of free throws to tie the game at ten with just over 12 minutes left in the first half. Pace would break the game open with 17-5 run as Victoria Jones (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) and Kerri White (Flushing, NY/Archbishop Molloy) (Flushing, NY/Archbishop Molloy/Manhattan College) both his trifectas in the run, while Huggins netted four points to pull Pace ahead 27-15 late in the opening half. The Setters would take a 34-21 lead into the break.
In the second half, Pace would pull out to a 16-point lead but the Spartans could only close the gap to as much as nine points before the Setters would win by eight points.
For Pace, Huggins led the Setters with 17 point and six rebounds on 7-for-15 shooting. Maral Javadifar (Flushing, NY/The Mary Louis Academy) (Flushing, NY/Mary Louis Academy) chipped in with 12 points, three rebounds and three steals. Kristin Connolly (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) and White each added seven points.
The Setters return to action on Saturday, November 20 when Pace travels to Garden City, NY for their NE-10 Conference opener against the Panthers of Adelphi University at 1:30 pm.
