Box Score SETTERS DROP SERIES FINALE
TO DELTA STATE 12-1
CLEVELAND, MS- The Pace baseball team lost the series finale to
Delta State 12-1 as the teams completed a three-game series. The
Setters fall to 2-4 on the season, while the Statesmen improve to
10-9 overall.
The Setters were limited to five hits as Denis Alimonti (Jefferson Valley, NY/Lakeland)
(Jefferson Valley, NY/Lakeland) drove in Vinny
Dammann (Mullica Hill, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) in the
seventh inning for the lone run of the day for Pace. Joe
Cotone (Yorktown Heights, NY/Lakeland) and Chris
Spatkowski (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) each went
1-for-4, while Mike Torello (Cheshire, CT/Cheshire) (Cheshire,
CT/Cheshire) went 1-for-3 in the series finale.
On the mound, Guiseppe Granito (Bronx, NY/Concordia
College) went 4 2/3 innings, allowing seven runs (six
earned) on nine hits, while striking out one to drop to 0-1 on the
season.
The Setters return back to action in the northeast when they are
scheduled to travel to Rockville Centre, NY for a non-conference
game against Molloy College on Tuesday, March 10 at 3 pm.
