SAINT THOMAS UNIVERSITY 6-3
MIAMI GARDENS, FL- The Pace baseball
team dropped a non-conference game to the Saint Thomas University
6-3 as the Bobcats used a five-run fifth inning to down the
Setters. The Setters fall to 4-9-1 on the season, while the Bobcats
improve to 10-18 on the season.
The Bobcats got on the board first as they would score the first
run of the game in the opening inning. Saint Thomas would rally
with five runs in the fifth inning with the key hit coming on a
grand slam homerun. Andre Liscinsky (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) (Trumbull,
CT/Trumbull) would get the Setters on the board in the
sixth as he led off with a single. Liscinsky would eventually come
around and scored from third on a passed ball. The Setters would
rally in the ninth, scoring a pair of runs but fell short of
putting the tying run on base.
On the mound, Chris Camastro (Lagrangeville, NY/Arlington) (Lagrangeville,
NY/Arlington) tossed 4 1/3 innings, allowing six
runs on 10 hits, while striking out three to drop to 0-1 on the
season. Richard Sullivan (Norwalk, CT/Norwalk) (Norwalk, CT/Norwalk)
pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings, allowing three hits and struck out
two. Salvatore DePaola (East Meadow, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) (East Meadow, NY/Kellenberg
Memorial) went the final inning, retiring all three
batters he faced, while striking out one.
The Setters wrap up their Florida tour with their spring break
trip finale in a non-conference match-up against Northeast Regional
foe Molloy College on Thursday, March 19 at 12:00 pm.
