PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Chargers of the
University of New Haven defeated the Cougars of Caldwell College
73-57 to kick off Day 2 of the Pace Holiday Classic. The Chargers
improve to 8-3 on the season, while the Cougars drop to 4-7.
For New Haven, Alysia Saunders
finished the game with a double-double sinking 13 points and
recording a team-high, ten rebounds. Briiana Rende the Chargers in
points scoring 15, while Helin Marte led the Chargers with nine
assists.
For Caldwell, Mackenzie Lynch helped
the Cougars with a double-double effort by scoring a game-high, 22
points and with game-high 14 rebounds. Kirsty Leedham also
contributed 17 points to the Cougars' effort.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Setters of Pace
University defeated the Bears of the New York Institute of
Technology 55-44 in Day 2 of the Pace University Holiday Classic.
The Setters improve to 6-3 overall, while the Bears fall to 2-8.
For Pace, Brittany
Shields (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) led the Setters
with a double-double performance by totaling a game-high, 16
points, and 12 rebounds. Brittany Huggins (Windsor, CT/Windsor) (Windsor,
CT/Windsor) drained 15 points, while Lisa Welsome (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's)
(Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) scored 12 points while
dishing out a team-high four assists in the winning effort.
For New York Tech, Mary Sbrissa led
the Bears in scoring with eleven points, while Jenny Eriksson
helped the Bears by taking down eight rebounds.
The All-Tournament Team was announced
after the conclusion of this game. The Tournament MVP was Pace's
Brittany Shields as she finished the tournament with 27 points, and
28 rebounds.
