Game 1- NEW HAVEN 56,
NEW YORK TECH 50
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Chargers of the University of New Haven
defeated the Bears of the New York Institute of Technology 56-50 to
kick off the Pace Holiday Classic. The Chargers improve to 7-3 on
the season, while the Bears drop to 2-7.
For New Haven, Alysia Saunders ended the game with a
double-double totaling a game-high, 15 rebounds, and a team-high,
14 points. Helin Marte led the Chargers with four assists.
For New York Tech, Madison Robertson led the Bears in scoring
with 20 points. Robertson, along with Tanisha Naughton helped carry
NYIT with seven rebounds apiece.
GAME 2- PACE 65,
CALDWELL 53
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Setters of Pace University defeated the
Cougars of Caldwell College 65-53 in Day 1 of the Pace University
Holiday Classic. The Setters improve to 5-3 overall, while the
Cougars fall to 4-6.
For Pace, Brittany Shields (Cold
Spring, NY/Haldane) led the Setters with a double-double
performance by totaling a game-high, 16 rebounds and eleven points.
Shiesha McCollum (Newburgh, NY/Washingtonville) (Newburgh, NY/Washingtonville)
scored a team-high, 12 points, while Laura Mooney (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) (Staten
Island, NY/St. John Villa) dished out seven assists in the
winning effort.
For Caldwell, Mackenzie Lynch helped the Cougars' effort by
scoring a game-high, 18 points. Lynea Blue took down nine rebounds,
and Abena George ended the game with six assists.
Day Two of the Pace University Holiday Classic concludes on
Tuesday, December 30 as New Haven will play Caldwell at 2:00 pm,
while the Setters will take on New York Tech at 6:00 pm at the
Goldstein Fitness Center on Pace's Pleasantville campus.
