Box Score SETTERS DEFEAT DOWLING, 71-49; PADELSKY NETS 17
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Pace senior Andrea Padelsky (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon)
(Lebanon, PA) scored a game-high 17 points, knocking down
5-of-5 from 3-point range. Padelsky also had three assists
ant three rebounds. Pace improves to 7-2 with the win while
Dowling drops to 1-7 overall.
The Setters led by 16 at the half, 33-17. Padelsky dropped
in 12 points for Pace while Liran Buchris (Massad, Israel/Great Neck South) (Massad,
Israel) had three assists and four rebounds in 10 minutes
played. Hannah Sheppard (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) (Norwich, CT) had five
points and seven rebounds in 12 minutes in the first half.
Dowling would close the gap to two points at the 9:39 mark at
13-11. Pace would outscore the Lions, 20-6 over the final
nine minutes to head into the first intermission at 33-17.
Padelsky would chip in nine of her 12 points in the run.
It was more of the same in the second frame as Pace outshot
Dowling, 40.7% to 33.3%. Pace controlled the boards for most
of the game, pulling in 53 caroms to Dowling's 34. The
Setters were also able to force 19 turnovers, converting six for 13
points.
Maria Brown (Frederick, MD/Frederick/UMBC) (Frederick, MD) had a double-double
with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Brown also had three assists
and three blocked shots. Sheppard totaled eight points and 13
rebounds as well as a team-high four assists.
For Dowling, Tiffany Davis (Philadelphia, PA) was the only
Golden Lions' player in double figures, totaling 10 points
and seven rebounds. Natasha Page (Queens, NY) finished with
eight points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
Pace returns to action when they host the Westchester Marriott
Holiday Classic on Wednesday, December 28th and
Thursday, December 29th. Pace will play University
of Bridgeport on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. and University of New
Haven on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
