SETTERS OUTLAST 'HOUNDS, 71-57, REMAIN UNDEFEATED

PLEASANTVILLE, NY –  The Pace University women's basketball team defeated Assumption College, 71-57, in a Northeast-10 Conference match-up at the Goldstein Health, Fitness and Recreation Center on the Pleasantville campus of Pace University.  Pace improves to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference while Assumption drops to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The Setters jumped out to a 34-23 lead at halftime, led by Maria Brown's (Frederick, MD/Frederick/UMBC) (Frederick, MD) nine points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor.  The Setters as a team out-shot the Greyhounds, 52% to 33.3% at the half.  Pace led from the start when Jesse Dlabola (Levittown, NY/Holy Trinity/Adelpi Univ.) (Levittown, NY) hit an open three to start the game.  Pace would lead 5-4 before an 8-to-1 Setter run gave Pace a 13-5 lead.  Pace would lead by as many as 12 points in the half before Assumption started to chop away at the Setter lead.  After a jumper by Marta Anderson-Winchell (Bloomingburg, NY/Pine Bush) (Bloomingburg, NY) gave Pace a 22-10 lead at the 11:32 mark, Assumption went off on a 12-to-2 run to close the gap to 24-22 Pace with 4:51 remaining in the first half.  Pace would close out the half with a 10-to-1 run as Dlabola had four of the Setters' 10 points. 

Pace led for the entire second half as well, as Assumption came as close as four points before the Setters pushed the lead up again.  Pace used a 16-to-5 run over a six minute period to give Pace a 16-point lead.  In the run, Hannah Sheppard (Norwich, CT) scored seven of the Setters' 16 points.

In all, Pace had five players, including four starters, finish in double figures.  Andrea Padelsky (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) (Lebanon, PA) had a game-high 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point range.  Ashley Wallace (Oswego, NY/Oswego) (Oswego, NY) had 13 points and six rebounds.  Brown finished with 11 points and nine rebounds while Dlabola had 12 points, eight assista and five steals.  Sheppard was the other Setter to score in double figures, totaling 11 points while also grabbing nine rebounds.   

For Assumption, Kerry Milhaven (Wantagh, NY)  had a team-high 14 points  on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor, including 2-of-6 from 3-point range.  Jess Paulson (North Providence, RI) had 13 points as she hit on 2-of-4 from long range and 3-of-4 from the free throw line.  Kristen DiCalogero (Walpole, MA) had five poitns and eight rebounds.

Pace returns to action on Wednesday, November 30th when they travel to Smithfield, RI to take on Bryant University in a Northeast-10 Conference match-up slated for a 5:30 p.m. start.
