PURCHASE, N.Y. – Nikki Chandler led a trio of Setters inside the top 42 as Pace University Women's Cross Country placed sixth at the Purchase College XC Invitational. Pace totaled 166 points and combined for a time of 1:40:16 across the 4K course, finishing just one point behind fifth-place SUNY Maritime.
Chandler paced the Blue and Gold for the second straight meet, crossing the finish line in 17:57.4 to place 18th overall. Her performance earned Pace 13 points and featured an average mile of 7:13.4.
Mercedes Rodriguez and Alexandra Harrison followed closely behind one another as Pace's next two finishers. Rodriguez recorded a time of 19:45.6 to finish 40th overall, while Harrison crossed just over a second later in 19:46.7 to take 42nd. The pair contributed 30 and 32 points, respectively, to the Setters' team score.
Addison Martinez and Sophie D'Orazio-Lelli completed Pace's scoring five. Martinez finished 56th overall in 21:18.9, followed by D'Orazio-Lelli in 57th at 21:28.2. Madison Picerno was close behind in 58th with a time of 21:31.3.
Sidnee Foushee added a 24:56.0 performance, while Sienna Stawiecki crossed in 27:12.7 and Mikaela Beabrun finished in 32:42.1 to round out the Setters' finishers.
St. Thomas Aquinas won the 11-team scored field with 35 points, followed by Hunter with 51 and Monroe University with 120. Pace's sixth-place effort put the Setters ahead of Farmingdale State, St. Joseph's Brooklyn, Sarah Lawrence, John Jay and Dominican.
The Setters return to action Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Golden Eagle Invitational, hosted by St. Joseph's University–Long Island in Patchogue, NY.
