Women’s Lacrosse Begins Postseason Run Saturday Versus SNHU

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – With the regular season complete and postseason play set to begin, Pace University Women's Lacrosse will welcome Southern New Hampshire University to Northwell Stadium on Saturday afternoon for the quarterfinal round of the Northeast 10 Conference Championship. The opening draw between the No. 2-seeded Setters and the No. 7-seeded Penmen is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.

Pace finished the regular season 12-4 overall and 8-1 in Northeast 10 play, earning the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. Southern New Hampshire enters postseason play at 6-9 overall and 3-6 in conference action after claiming the No. 7 seed.

The Setters enter the tournament after putting together another strong campaign, highlighted by an eight-game win streak to close the regular season. Pace posted conference victories over Bentley, Saint Anselm, Assumption, Southern Connecticut State, and Southern New Hampshire during the regular season while finishing second in the conference standings.

Pace has been one of the top offensive teams in the conference this season, totaling 235 goals while allowing just 133. The Blue and Gold have scored at least 15 goals in 11 contests and enter the postseason averaging 14.7 goals per game. Defensively, Pace has held opponents to single-digit goals seven times and has continued to force turnovers and create numerous transition opportunities throughout the season.

Saturday's contest will mark the second meeting between the two teams this year. Pace earned a 15-8 victory over Southern New Hampshire on March 31st in Pleasantville, N.Y., behind a balanced offensive performance.

The winner of Saturday's match-up will advance to the conference semifinals on Wednesday, April 29, against the winner of No. 3 Southern Connecticut State and No. 6 Bentley.
