NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA. – Following a breakout stretch at the plate, Pace University Softball freshman
Ava Edmond has been named the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced Monday afternoon.
The Catskill, N.Y. native played a key role in Pace's offensive success across a busy eight-game week, helping the Blue and Gold generate consistent production while delivering in clutch moments.
Edmond turned in a strong overall performance, hitting 6-for-20 (.300) while scoring six runs and driving in seven RBIs. She consistently reached base and contributed across multiple games, providing depth to the Setters lineup.
Her standout performance came in the April 12 win over No. 21 Franklin Pierce, where she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs scored and six RBIs. Edmond powered the offense with a home run and a triple, while also drawing multiple walks in the victory.
Edmond's production helped the Setters secure three wins on the week, including two victories over nationally ranked No. 21 Franklin Pierce. Overall, her performance highlights her growing role in the lineup, as the freshman continues to make an impact for the Blue and Gold.
