PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Following a dominant weekend at the plate, Pace University junior Madison Picerno has been named the Northeast 10 Conference Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Picerno fueled the Setters offense in a four-game sweep of Saint Michael's, finishing the weekend with six hits and 11 RBIs while helping Pace open conference play in commanding fashion.
The junior got things started in the series opener, going 2-for-3 with five RBIs, setting the tone early for the Blue and Gold. She continued her strong play on Sunday with two additional multi-hit performances, consistently delivering in key situations throughout the lineup.
Highlighting the weekend, Picerno launched a game-winning walk-off home run, one of two home runs she hit during the series, and crossed the plate three times. Her timely hitting and ability to drive in runs proved critical as Pace completed the 4-0 sweep.
Picerno's offensive production played a major role in the Setters' successful start to Northeast 10 Conference play, providing momentum as the Blue and Gold continue their season.
