PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University Men's Lacrosse evened its record at 1-1 on Saturday afternoon with a commanding 13-5 victory over Chestnut Hill at Northwell Stadium. The Setters controlled the game from the opening face-off, using a dominant second quarter to seize momentum and never look back in front of its home crowd.

Jack Kern anchored the defense early, turning aside four first-quarter shots to keep Chestnut Hill off the board despite six attempts. The Setters out-shot the Griffins 19-6 in the frame but carried just a one-goal edge into the second.
The second quarter proved decisive. After Chestnut Hill tied the game at 1-1,
Colin Reese answered less than a minute later to restore the lead. The teams traded goals to make it 2-2 before Danowski ignited a three-goal burst in a span of 47 seconds, scoring twice unassisted and once off a feed from
Declan Landers to push the advantage to 5-2.
Matt Baldino capped the surge with a finish off a
Cody McClean assist, sending Pace into halftime with a 6-2 cushion.
Chestnut Hill trimmed the deficit to 6-4 early in the third, but the Setters responded again.
Lee Poulin scored unassisted at 11:22, Baldino added his second of the afternoon off another McClean helper, and
Trevor Lamoureux buried a feed from McClean to extend the margin to 9-4 heading into the fourth.
Pace continued to press in the final period. Reese opened the quarter with his second goal, and McClean followed with a tally of his own to make it 11-4. After the Griffins found the net to cut it to 11-5,
Jake Cenci and
Nick Naccarato closed out the scoring with late fourth-quarter goals to seal the 13-5 victory.
Danowski led all scorers with four goals on nine shots, while Baldino (2G, 1A), Reese (2G), and McClean (1G, 3A) each played pivotal roles in the offensive outburst. Pace out-shot Chestnut Hill 55-30 and dominated ground balls, 51-26, while winning 17 of 22 face-offs to control possession throughout.
