LOUISVILLE, KY. – For the first time in Pace Softball history, First-Team All-American honors are coming to Pleasantville, N.Y. This week,
Gisselle Garcia was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
The East Region and NE10 Pitcher of the Year now adds more hardware as this year's honors mark the first time in program history a Setter has ever garnered First Team All-American recognition.
In the 2025 campaign, most individuals have run out of adjectives to describe the talent and impact Garcia has in the circle. During her remarkable season so far, she has tallied 28 wins, 27 complete games, 20 shutouts, six saves, and 365 strikeouts, all while maintaining a stellar 0.69 earned run average.
It was a record-breaking season for Garcia as she became the Northeast-10 Conference's All-Time strikeout leader, becoming the first pitcher to ever reach 1,000 career punch-outs. In addition to her NE10 record, she set multiple Pace Softball records, including All-Time career wins (79), complete games (93), and shutouts (45). Garcia also now holds the single-season record for wins, complete games, shutouts, strikeouts, and saves.
With her NFCA and D2CCA First-Team selections, the senior standout has now earned All-American honors in back-to-back seasons, having been named to the Third Team in 2024. Overall, the Lemon Grove, CA. native's skills are undeniable as she ranks within the top five in multiple pitching statistics throughout NCAA Division II softball.
Garcia returns to the circle on Thursday evening as the Setters begin their quest for a National Title at the
2025 NCAA Division II Softball Championship. The action kicks off at 6:30 p.m. as the sixth-seeded Setters battle the third-seeded Central Oklahoma from Frost Stadium in Chattanooga, TN.
