#8 Men's Lacrosse Host Senior Day Versus #3 Saint Anselm

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - #8 Men's Lacrosse hosted #3 Saint Anselm College at Northwell Stadium for their senior day celebration Saturday afternoon.

In the event, the Men's Lacrosse program recognized 16 seniors on their careers, representing the Blue and Gold, Jackson Bulger, Steven Ferullo Jr., Garret Geraci, Kieran Hagan, Caden Hallinan, Jameson Howley, Preston Kral, Andrew Llamas, James Mantione, Vincent Marchese, Ryan Mimnaugh, Timmy Morrow, Joey Parisi, Branden Tello, Jonah White, and Daniel Zabbia. With the Setters battling back late in the fourth quarter, Pace ultimately dropped 15-12 to drop to 10-3 overall and 6-2 in the Northeast-10 (NE10) as this concludes their regular season schedule.

Here's What Happened:
  • The Hawks opened the day with a dominating first quarter when they presented six goals in contrast to the Setters one. Daniel Zabbia recorded the lone point in the frame to put the Blue and Gold on the board.
  • By the second, Osei Adoma and Colin Reese gave the Blue and Gold two goals, but the squad surrendered three goals to the Hawks to enter halftime trailing by six, 9-3.
  • Coming out of the half, the Setters lit a fire to their momentum where they featured a equalized third quarter from Declan Landers tallying two in order to prevent another Hawk run, 11-5.
  • The Setters found their way to a massive seven goal final stanza and Dennis Hodge-Boccanfuso started the scoring run with a swift goal in just a little over 10-seconds into the frame, 11-6. Saint Anselm answered back caging consecutive goals, but the Setters found their way to a four goal rally to sit within 3, 13-10.
  • Despite the efforts on both sides of the turf for the Blue and Gold, they ultimately dropped 15-12 in the day.
Box Score Insights:
  • Landers and Will Danowski tallied three points to lead the offensive end for the Setters where Landers recorded three goals and Danowski three assists.
  • Zabbia finished with two goals along with Parisi. Hodge-Boccanfuso went 12-18 in face offs and tallied 2 ground balls.
  • Chris Butler, Trevor Lamoureux, Howley, and Mimnaugh posted two caused turnovers apiece.
  • The Setters collectively saved 10 goals in the event with Jimmy Caputo saving seven and Jack Kern three.

The Men's Lacrosse Program has made their way into the Northeast-10 postseason as the three seed. The squad is set to take the field of Northwell Stadium next Saturday, Apr. 26, with time and opponent to be determined.
