#8 Setters Down #12 Bentley During 40th Season Celebration

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - #8 Pace Men's Lacrosse hosted #12 Bentley University in a rainy Northeast-10 (NE10) match up Friday evening at Northwell Stadium.

In the event, the Setters celebrated their 40th season with over 30 Men's Lacrosse Alumni in the stands and took the 12-7 win to improve to 10-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play.

Here's What Happened:
  • The first half was all Blue and Gold where the squad caged five unanswered goals until the Falcons put themselves on the board with three minutes remaining in the opening half.
  • Matt Baldino and Daniel Zabbia ignited the Setters' momentum for the 2-0 lead in the first quarter and by the second Will Danowski continued his scoring streak with a goal of his own to edge the Falcons, 3-0. Caden Hallinan tallied consecutive points followed by Danowski for the 6-0 lead and Bentley finally snapped the scoring run with a goal, 6-1.
  • Bentley attempted to battle their way back into the contest with four goals in the third quarter, however, Hallinan and Zabbia posted three for the hosts and the final stanza started with a 11-5 Setter lead.
  • The Falcons went on to outscore Pace once more, 2-1, in the final stanza. Despite the scoring shift favoring the Falcons, the play clock was on the Setters side and ended with a 12-7 Pace victory.
Box Score Insights:
  • Zabbia led all scorers with four goals and one assist for five points and Hallinan caged three.
  • Danowski and Jackson Bulger finished the night with two goals apiece.
  • Osei Adoma recorded two caused turnovers and Declan Landers had five ground balls.
  • Jack Kern made 12 saves in goal for a 10-1 record for the season.
