Men’s Lacrosse Duo Paces #5 Setters to Topple Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA, PA - #5 Pace Men's Lacrosse remain undefeated, 4-0, to start their 2025 season as they secured the non-conference victory over Chestnut Hill College in Pennsylvania Saturday afternoon.

The Setters recorded five unanswered goals throughout the second and third quarters to secure the 10-5 victory. The duo of Declan Landers and Daniel Zabbia lead all Blue and Gold scorers with two goals each with the Setters featuring a total of eight goal scorers.

Here's What Happened:
  • The Setters have developed a pattern to ignite each of their contests with their first goal of the game occurring within the first minute of regulation. This time it was Caden Hallinan to cage the first marker of the day. Zabbia tallied his first of the contest in the first followed by Lee Poulin a few moments later for the 3-0 first quarter advantage.
  • The Griffins were able to slash the three-goal deficit to one when they opened the second quarter with consecutive goals for the 3-2 Setter lead. Landers gave the offensive edge back to the Setters with his first goal of the contest, 4-2, at the halfway point.
  • With the second shut out quarter of the game for Pace, the squad caged five goals from the scoring feats of Trevor Lamoureux, Landers (who scored within seconds of each other), Colin Reese, Preston Kral, and Jackson Bulger, 9-2.
  • Pace was held to one goal in the final frame while Chestnut Hill went on to record three. Zabbia caged his and the team's final goal, 10-2, with 14-minutes remaining and the Griffins recorded their largest scoring quarter with three. Despite the hosts efforts to halt the Setters, the Blue and Gold secured the 10-5 victory at the end of the final stanza.
Box Score Insights:
  • Landers and Zabbia led the team with two goals while Landers tallied three points with one assist.
  • Hallinan and Lamoureux finished with two points apiece with a goal and an assist.
  • James Rosellon went 12-14 in faceoffs while grabbing five ground balls and Dennis Hodge-Boccanfuso went 4-5 with three ground balls.
  • James Mantione caused two turnovers and snagged five ground balls.
  • Jack Kern remains undefeated in goal with today's win and secured six saves.
