GREENSBURG, PA - #4 Men's Lacrosse hit the road to Greensburg, PA to play #7 Seton Hill University (Pa.) Saturday afternoon.
After trailing by three goals (6-3) through one full half of play, the Setters were upended in the second to drop for the first time this season 16-5.
Here's What Happened:
- The Griffins opened on a 4-0 rally to ignite the first quarter. Daniel Zabbia caged his first of the day with four minutes remaining in the frame, 4-1, followed by Preston Kral to cut the host advantage to two, 4-2.
- In a defensive dominant second quarter, both teams combined for three goals. The Setters were led by Zabbia tallying his second, however, the Griffins held the upper hand caging two goals to enter halftime in front, 6-3.
- Throughout each of the quarters, the Griffins found the back of the net first and entered the final stanza with the Setters in a seven-goal deficit, 12-5.
- The Setters were held scoreless in the fourth quarter for any effort of a comeback to be halted, 16-5.
Box Score Insights:
- Zabbia led all scorers with two goals while grabbing three ground balls.
- Kral, Declan Landers, and Matt Baldino caged a goal each in the day and Caden Hallinan recorded two assists.
- Chris Butler led the defensive charge with three caused turnovers with three ground balls. James Mantione was first on the squad with four ground balls.
- Jack Kern made nine saves in goal for the Blue and Gold.
