MANCHESTER, N.H. – On Saturday afternoon, Pace Men's Soccer faced one of their toughest challenges of the season, falling 6–0 to nationally ranked No. 3 Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference action at Mark A. Ouellette Stadium. Taking on one of the top offensive teams in Division II, Pace now sits at 4-6-2 overall and 0-4-1 in the NE10.
The Penmen capitalized early, scoring in the third minute and continuing to apply pressure throughout the opening half. Despite several strong saves from goalkeeper Rocky Jing, Southern New Hampshire converted five times before halftime to take control of the match.
Pace settled in after the break, limiting the hosts to just one second-half goal, a penalty in the 51st minute, and creating more possession in the attacking third.
Jing finished with six saves on the afternoon, while Daniel Santos, Kai Maor, and Nicholas Carvalho each produced chances going forward. Carvalho recorded the Setters' lone shot on goal, and defenders Ben Dunkerley, Edward Vargas, and Pietro Carvalho each logged over 80 minutes to anchor the back line.
The Setters return home on Tuesday, October 14, to host Assumption University in a 7 p.m. NE10 matchup under the lights at Northwell Stadium.
