Late Equalizer Forces Men’s Soccer to Settle for Tie with Felician

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Under the lights at Northwell Stadium on Wednesday night, Pace University Men's Soccer battled through 90 intense minutes, ultimately settling for a 1-1 draw against Felician University. The result moves the Setters to 3-4-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the Northeast 10 (NE10) Conference, as Pace continues to navigate a stretch of challenging league play.

The first half proved to be a scrappy affair, but Pace gradually grew into the match. The Setters enjoyed stretches of possession as they probed for openings, and goalkeeper Khais Milligan was called into action several times.

Just before the halftime whistle, Pace broke through. In the 44th minute, a sustained build-up led to Daniel Santos slotting home the opener, giving the Blue and Gold a 1-0 lead heading into intermission.

In the second half, the pace of the contest remained intense. Felician looked to respond, pressing into the Pace defensive third, but the Setters' backline — marshaled by Pietro Carvalho, Ben Dunkerley, and Niall Rodgers — held firm. Milligan added key saves to preserve the one-goal advantage well into the final quarter.

However, the visitors found their moment in the 84th minute, sending a service into the box that found the foot of a Felician attacker, equalizing the match at 1-1. Less than two minutes later, Pace was awarded a penalty — and Santos stepped up to try and restore the lead — but his attempt was denied, keeping the match tied. The Setters pushed hard in the final minutes but could not find a winner.

Milligan's six-save night stood out as a defensive backbone, while Santos paced the Pace attack with three shots and the lone goal. Off the bench, Danyil Uchytel and Nikita Dushkevich injected energy in the attacking third, continually working to generate chances in the closing stretches.

Pace will return to action Saturday at 7:00 p.m., when they host Franklin Pierce University at Northwell Stadium in a NE10 Conference match-up.
