Men’s Soccer Falls to Franklin Pierce in NE10 Action

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Hosting one of the Northeast 10 Conference's top teams on Saturday afternoon, Pace University Men's Soccer was dealt a 6-1 setback by Franklin Pierce University at Northwell Stadium. The result moves the Setters to 3-5-2 overall and 0-3-1 in conference play this fall.

From the opening whistle, Franklin Pierce applied consistent attacking pressure, forcing Pace to defend deep in its own half. The visitors broke through in the eighth minute to take the early lead, then threatened again shortly after, but goalkeeper Khais Milligan made a critical penalty-kick save in the 11th minute to keep the Setters within striking distance. Despite several strong stops from Milligan, Franklin Pierce added goals in the 37th and 45th minutes to carry a 3–0 advantage into halftime.

Pace came out of the break looking to generate offense and found its best stretch early in the second half. After Franklin Pierce extended the lead to 4–0 in the 50th minute, Daniel Santos put the Setters on the board in the 61st minute with a well-taken finish, cutting the deficit to three.

Santos led the Pace attack with three shots on target. The Ravens, however, answered with two more goals in the closing 20 minutes to seal the 6–1 decision.
Milligan finished with 10 saves in 71 minutes of action, while Rocky Jing made four stops in relief.

Pace Men's Soccer will return to Northwell Stadium on Tuesday, October 7, hosting Jefferson University in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Pleasantville, N.Y.
