Evans Named Pace Head Men’s Soccer Coach; Soto Elevated to Women’s Head Coach

PLEASANTVILLE,  NY – Director of Athletics Mark Brown announced on Friday that Edward Evans has been named head coach of the Pace University men's soccer team, and Brittany Soto has been elevated to head coach of the women's program.

Evans will lead the men's program as they take the field this fall for the first time in 35 years after Pace announced its re-launch last summer. He was Head Coach of the Pace women's soccer team for the 2024 season after serving as Associate Head Coach from 2013-2023. During that time, the program tied a school record for most wins in a single season with 12 in 2016, as he helped the program to a spot in the Northeast 10 Championship game. Evans has made his mark in the soccer community over the years, currently serving as a member of the ownership group for the Hudson Valley Hammers and was head coach of the USL2 team for the 2022 season, working with elite collegiate level and academy aged players.

"I am excited to bring back the men's soccer program for the first time since 1990," said Evans. "It's an honor to be a part of it and the support we have already received from the soccer community has been incredible. I want thank Mark Brown and Mike Winn for their vision and all the work they have done behind the scenes to bring the program back to Pace University.  I am looking forward to the fall of 2025."

Soto served as the Associate Head Coach for Pace women's soccer during the 2024 campaign. She joined the staff in August, bringing a resume spanning 15 years at the club and high school levels. In the 2021 and 2022 seasons, she led the Hopkins School team in Connecticut to the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) quarterfinals. Her coaching journey includes tenures at highly respected clubs on the East Coast, such as Knoxville Crush, Tophat Soccer Club, FSA, and CFC. During her time with the Knoxville Crush, Soto was honored with the Coach of the Year award in 2015.

"I am truly honored for the incredible opportunity to lead the Women's Soccer program and deeply grateful to Coach Evans for his mentorship this past season," Soto stated. "With a rich history and a strong foundation laid by those before me, this program stands on a legacy of excellence. I look forward to building upon that tradition, working closely with our players, and guiding the team toward continued success."
