Garcia Earns D2CCA All-American Second Team Selection

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Following her dominant 2024 season, Gisselle Garcia continues to add to her hardware as she was selected to the D2CCA All-American second-team. The junior right-handed pitcher put together one of the most accomplished seasons in Pace University's softball history.

The Lemon Grove, CA native finished the year with a 20-5 record, 1.10 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, 260 strikeouts, and a .143 opponent batting average throughout 165.0 innings. Her eye-opening year included five no-hitters, 19 complete games, 10 shutouts, and 16 double-digit strikeout performances.

Garcia produced a career-best in ERA, strikeouts, and wins during her junior year. She finished ninth throughout the NCAA DII in ERA (1.10), second in hits per seven innings (3.54), seventh for total shutouts (10), and fifth in strikeouts per seven innings (11.0). Back in March, Garcia broke the record for career strikeouts at Pace University surpassing the previous mark of 480 (a record that stood for nearly 20 years). The two-way threat also tallied 15 hits, eight RBIs, and one home run throughout 41 at-bats.

Throughout her 27 appearances in the pitcher's circle, Garcia put together a multitude of elite performances. She opened her season with a 13-strikeout perfect game against Virginia Union University. She had an impressive performance against Southern Connecticut State University pitching a season-high ten innings with 14 strikeouts.

Garcia registered a career-best 17 strikeouts in a no-hit performance against New Haven University. She tallied 11 strikeouts in a no-hitter against Bridgeport University. Against Assumption University, the junior pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts. She then wrapped up her year with an 11-strikeout no-hit performance against Bridgeport in the NCAA East Regional.

Garcia was an essential part of Pace's success on the field as the program tied its record for wins in a season with 33.
