PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University men's lacrosse defense did the heavy lifting on Saturday, limiting Chestnut Hill College to three goals while causing 17 turnovers in a 12-3 victory at Northwell Stadium on Saturday.
Pace improves to 4-0 and returns to action next Saturday, Mar. 16 at noon when they welcome the College of Saint Rose.
Pace scored the first four goals of the game with two coming from
Daniel Zabbia, and
Ryan Kemp and
Colin Reese joined the scoring as the visitors got on the board for the first time. The final three goals in the first half went to Pace to give the Setters a 7-1 halftime lead.
The Griffins netted the first two goals of the first half, but Pace's defense clamped down and kept the Griffins off the board for the rest of the way.
Zabbia and Kemp led the offense with four and three goals each, but the story was the defense.
Chris Butler forced four turnovers while
Chris Caputo and
Nick Honan each forced three.
Jack Kern only allowed three goals while making six saves.
