PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Six unanswered goals by No. 4 Adelphi University in the first quarter was enough to keep the No. 9 Pace University men's lacrosse at bay to hand the Setters their first loss of the 2024 season, 12-6.
The Setters fall to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in Northeast 10 play. The Setters return to action on Wednesday, Apr. 3 when they travel to Waltham, MA. for a meeting with Bentley University at 7 p.m.
Six different Panthers got shots past
Jack Kern to open up the aforementioned six-goal lead. While
Colin Reese stemmed the bleeding with 44 seconds left in the first quarter, and
Trevor Lamoureux converted the Blue and Gold's lone EMO chance in the game in the second, Logan Tucker got the goal back to make the score 7-2 just over halfway through the second quarter.
The lead would shrink to three goals, the lowest it would be the rest of the way, thanks to
Ryan Kemp and
Daniel Zabbia breaking through to make the halftime score 7-4, the first two goals of the third went to the Panthers to effectively seal the game.
Rowan Kelly did his part this evening, causing four turnovers, securing three ground balls, and assisting on a goal.
Maxwell Streety continued his strong play on the X, going 14-22 on the evening.
Dylan Renner was a brick wall in the net for the Panthers, making 15 saves and only allowing six goals.
