Box Score NEW HAVEN, C.T. – Wednesday evening, the Pace University women's basketball team fell short against Southern Connecticut State University, 48-41. It marks just their fourth loss on the road as the Setters fall to 15-7 overall, and 9-7 in the Northeast-10.
It was another defensive clash between Pace and Soutern Connecticut as the match-up mirrored a similar score to earlier in the season.
A 9-4 run in the third quarter made the difference for the Owls in a close game between the Northeast-10 competitors. That run gave the home squad an eight-point advantage near the end of the third quarter, 38-30.
In the fourth quarter, Tower Lorde trimmed the Owl lead to six points in the final minute on a fast break and one basket. However, the late push would not be enough as Pace would fall at the hands to Southern Connecticut for the second time this season, 41-48.
It was a difficult night from the floor for the Setters as they made just 33.3 percent of their field goals. Southern Connecticut State knocked-down only 39.1 percent but managed to win the three-point battle making 44.4 percent compared to Pace's 22.2.
Delaney Haines had a productive night on the offensive end for Southern Connecticut pouring in 16 points on 6-8 from the field.
The Setters were led by the tandem of Arianna Stockinger (11 points), Katumina Mansaray (10 points), and Lorde (10 points).
Pace is back in action Saturday afternoon at home against Franklin Pierce with tip-off set for 1:30 p.m.
