Pace Earns NCAA President's Award for Academic Excellence

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University was awarded the NCAA Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence after finishing with an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90 percent.

"Congratulations to the 44 schools who have earned this prestigious award," said Steven Shirley, president of Minot State and chair of the Division II Presidents Council. "It takes a collective effort from the student-athletes, coaches, university and athletic administrators to earn an Academic Success Rate of 90% or higher, and I'm very excited to recognize these schools."

"Pace is incredibly proud of its student-athletes' academic growth and success." Said Provost for Academic Affairs Dr. Joseph Franco. "Our coaches do a remarkable job recruiting students who appreciate the immense value of a Pace education.  I am grateful for our coaches' dedication, care for our student-athletes, and commitment to academics."

A Division II-best seven NE10 institutions were recognized with Presidents' Awards for Academic Excellence, as the league did no worse than tie for the national lead for the 11th straight year. Saint Michael's College and Bentley University (99%) topped a competitive field that included league brethren Saint Anselm College (92%), Adelphi University (91%), Assumption University (91%), Southern New Hampshire University (91%)

The Division II Academic Requirements Committee established the Division II Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence in spring 2012 to recognize programs achieving long-term academic success.
