Setters’ All-Conference Setter Shea Hansen Rounds Out The Pace Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2023

Pace University Hall of Fame Induction will take place during homecoming weekend in mid-October.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – On Oct. 22, 2023, Former Pace Setter standout volleyball setter Shea Hansen will be inducted into the Pace University Athletics Hall of Fame, presented by Northwell Health, along with an elite group of all-female inductees.
 
Hansen, a Mesa, Ariz., native, played for the Blue and Gold volleyball team from 2008-2011. During her time on the court for Pace, the volleyball team amassed a 72-49 record. Hansen helped lead the Setters to three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
 
The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Brunch will take place on Homecoming Weekend for the Setters and includes recognition at the Homecoming football game against Southern Connecticut State University at Northwell Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 21 and the Induction Ceremony and Brunch on Sunday at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, N.Y.
 
Hansen made an immediate impact on the court for Pace, playing in 104 games as a freshman and was fourth in the NE10 in assists with 928. Hansen earned All-Rookie honors from the NE10. For her career she earned NE10 First Team and Second Team honors as well as American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-Region. She was also honored as part of the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
 
Hansen played in 433 games for the Blue and Gold, amassed 231 kills to go along with 4,085 assists and service aces. She also totaled 855 digs and 88 blocks.
 
Her assist total still ranks second in the Pace career record books. All four of her single-season assist tallies rank in the top-15 of the Pace records with her best-assist season of 1,198 in 2010 ranking seventh in the single-season records.
 
Hansen graduated from Pace with a degree in Marketing from the Lubin School of Business.
 
This year's Hall of Fame is the 20th enshrined class. It is an all-female one, celebrating the long tradition of standout women student-athletes on the heels of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. In addition to Shea Hansen, the Class of 2023 includes Lesly Sanchez Alvarez '18, the first field hockey player; two-sport athlete Marta Anderson-Winchell '06 from women's soccer and women's basketball and Carrie Seymour, the current head coach of the women's basketball team.
 
The Peter X. Finnerty Leadership Award will be presented to women's basketball alumni Elizabeth Hernandez '83. She was inducted into the Pace Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.
 
The Pace Athletics Hall of Fame began in 1997.
