PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University field hockey team will get the long-awaited chance at revenge for last year's Northeast 10 Championship defeat on Wednesday when Adelphi University comes to town on Wednesday.
The second match of the week has the Setters hitting the road to Manchester, N.H. for a matchup with No.4 Saint Anselm College.
Pace (4-2) is currently riding a three-game winning streak, with all three wins coming in overtime.
Krista Dietz and
Tavia Flecksteiner have provided six goals each while Dietz has added five assists.
Noëlle Meij had scored three goals and handed out four assists thus far.
Celeste Pagliaroli, who is coming off being names NE10 Rookie and Goalie of the Week for her performances last week, has been stellar in the cage during her freshman season. Playing every minute thus far, the Lakeland High School product owns a GAA of 2.48 and has made 57 saves.
Aledphi has had a slow start out of the gates thus far, sporting a record of 1-4 but it has been filled with tough competition. The four losses have all come against opponents who are currently ranked in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll in Newberry College, East Stroudsburg University, West Chester University and Saint Anselm College.
Alli Nagy and Amanda Lee are leading the offensive attack Panthers with three goals a piece while Emiline Biggin has contributed two goals and two assists thus far.
The Hawks, who are currently ranked fourth in all the land, sit at 4-1 on the year with the only loss coming at the hands of Millersville University. The last time out, the Hawks took down Adelphi 3-1.
Maddie Davis has supplied four goals and a trio of Hawks in Abbey Bevens, Maggie Burchill and Stephanie Sutton-Brown have added two goals each.
