OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Pace University Athletics Department held a successful Alumni and Friends Golf Challenge this past Tuesday at Hudson Hills Golf Course in Ossining, N.Y. 

The eighth annual event featured 27 groups of golfers which spanned alumni, family, friends, coaches, former coaches and staff and raised nearly $6,000 for the Setters team of their choice. The support from this year's attendees will help the Pace coaches further enhance the student-athlete experience, and allows the recruitment of some of the est student-athletes at this level. 

Sponsorships included Halliday Financial as the Putting Green sponsor, Crown Castle, returning as the Golf Cart sponsor, RG Title Agency as the Beverage Cart sponsor and The Zabbia Insurance Agency returning as the Hole-In-One sponsor. 

Hole sponsors included A&S Fine Foods Thornwood, The Middlebrook Family (Class of 1987), PAX Surveying, Scheidel, Sullivan and Lanni, CPA LLC, Westchester Realty Consultants, Luna Landscaping and Halliday Financial. 

The outing had Pace Athletics alumni from the late 70s through the current graduating class of 2023. There were eight groups representing Pace football, seven representing baseball, four from men's lacrosse, two from men's basketball and other foursomes representing women's lacrosse, women's soccer, swimming and diving, volleyball, cheer, esports and women's basketball. 
 
The winners of the outing were the Cimicata foursome: Paul Cimicata, Mike Tremonte, Dan Caruso and Bob Jankowski. The foursome, representing Pace football as Paul is a football parent of Paul Cimicata, defensive end and Class of 2023, shot a 13-under 58 at the challenging course. 

The runners up were the Cosentino foursome, representing Pace volleyball and hole sponsor Westchester Realy Consultants. Joseph Cosentino,  parent of Georgette Cosentino, a junior setter on the Setters' volleyball team, and his team of Rocy Miano, Rocco Miano and Mikey Miano shot a 10-under par 61. 

The outing also featured a longest drive competition that was won by Matt Yavorski of the Crown Castle group. The closest-to-the-pin contest was won by Michael Lombardo of the Zabbia foursome. 



The ninth annual Alumni and Friends Golf Challenge will return June 18, 2024 to the same course. Interested parties should mark their calendars.
