Caputo and Zabbia Named USILA All-Americans

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Senior midfielder Anthony Caputo (Westbury, N.Y./W.T Clarke) and sophomore attack Daniel Zabbia (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West) of the Pace University men's lacrosse team were both named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American, announced by the association Friday. Caputo was named to the first team while earning the Midfielder of the Year award, while Zabbia was named an honorable mention.

Caputo played in all 15 games for the Setters this year, totaling 32 goals and a team-high 26 assists to lead Pace with 58 points total, tied for fourth in the NE10. Caputo led the team with three game-winning goals this season while picking up a .311 shooting percentage. He added 15 ground balls, four caused turnovers and was second on the team with 63 shots on goal.

Zabbia had a huge sophomore season this year, leading the team with 49 goals and finishing second in the conference in that category. He started every game for the Setters this season, scoring 55 points, good for second on the team. Zabbia had a .320 shooting percentage and scored a team-best nine man-up goals while adding one game winner. He picked up 27 ground balls and caused eight turnovers, while leading the team with 89 shots on goal.

The pair helped men's lacrosse to an 11-4 record on the year, as the team reached a top-10 ranking this season.
