Pace Lacrosse Has Seven Members Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Seven members of the Pace University men's and women's lacrosse teams were named to the CSC Academic All-District team, as they completed successful seasons both on the field and in the classroom.

Grad student midfielder Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) finished her grad year with a 3.84 cumulative GPA while turning in a massive season for the Setters. She played in all 23 games, scoring 66 goals and adding 19 assists to finish third on the team with 85 points. She had a .555 shooting percentage and finished third on the team with 109 draw controls while setting the all-time Pace draw controls record. Conway also picked up 39 ground balls while causing 32 turnovers.

Junior midfielder Angelina Porcello (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester) earned a 3.74 GPA for her efforts this year and was Pace's best two-way player this season. She scored 65 goals and had 19 assists, placing fourth on the team with 84 points. On the defensive side, she led the team with 142 draw controls, 61 ground balls and 52 caused turnovers while shooting .528 on the year.

Grad student midfielder Aleya Corretjer (Thiells, N.Y./North Rockland) had the highest-scoring season in program history, setting the all-time mark with 121 points. She had a 3.77 cumulative GPA this year, while scoring 56 goals and 65 assists. She set the single-season points, single-season assists, single-game assists and all-time assists records this season while picking up 25 ground balls, causing eight turnovers, and handling 16 draw controls.

Grad student midfielder Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) finished her final season with a 3.8 cumulative GPA while setting the all-time single-season goals record. She scored 83 times this year and added 19 assists, finishing second overall on the team with 102 points. She had a .506 shooting percentage, had 22 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers this year.

Senior midfielder Anthony Caputo (Westbury, N.Y./W.T Clarke) was men's lacrosse's highest-scoring player this season, putting in 32 goals and adding 26 assists for 58 points. He carried a 3.35 GPA while scoring three game-winning goals this year. He had 15 ground balls and four caused turnovers, and shot .311 on the season.

Sophomore attack Daniel Zabbia (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West) carried a 3.9 cumulative GPA into the summer and had a breakout second season as well. He led the team with 49 goals and notched six assists to finish second on the team with 55 points. He had 27 ground balls, eight caused turnovers, and led the team with nine man-up goals this season.

Sophomore midfielder Timmy Morrow (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) collected a 3.53 GPA during his second year while playing in all 15 games. He scored four goals and had 12 assists for 16 points, and picked up nine ground balls while causing a pair of turnovers this year.
