Tower Lorde (Saint Michael, Barbados/The St. Michael School) scored a career-best 25 points in the win, shooting 11-for-15 from the field. Senior guard
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) went 3-for-7 from long range, 6-for-12 from the floor to add in 19.
It was Lorde's second double-double of the season as she also had the team-high in rebounds with 12.
Also in double figures for the Setters was sophomore guard
Arianna Stockinger (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Putnam Valley) who netted 11, also shooting .500 from the floor.
With the win, Pace advances to 11-14 overall, 7-11 in the NE10. Adelphi falls to 9-15, 6-13 in the conference. The Setters won the earlier meeting against the Panthers, 70-54 on Jan 4.
For Adelphi, Ty'zhea Hawkins was the team-leader with 14 points.
Pace scored 21 points off their own rebounds and outscored Adelphi 48-30 in the paint.
At the half, Pace led 37-27.
Wednesday night's game was the return of the Pride Hoops Night, celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community at Pace and in the surrounding areas. In conjunction with Pride Hoops, Pace welcomed community partners to table around the arena for students and fans. Halftime featured a special drag performance by Miz Jade. The halftime festivities also included a halftime free throw shooting contest between University President Marvin Krislov and head football coach Andy Rondeau. Rondeau edged Krislov, 6-5, resulting in a $2,550 donation to the Pace Cares Fund, donated by President Krislov and Director of Athletics Mark Brown.
Up next for the Setters is a road game at Saint Rose at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18.
