PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University Baseball head coach Hank Manning has announced details of the annual Pace Baseball Hot Stove Dinner. This year's event will be held on Sunday, Feb. 4, starting at 2 p.m. at Tesoro D'Italia in Pleasantville, N.Y. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
This benefit event will feature a cocktail hour, dinner, and recognition of the class of 2024. Featured as the keynote speaker for this year is Dwight "Doc" Gooden who starred in Major League Baseball for 16Â years, earning National League Rookie of the Year in 1984, a Cy Young Award in 1985, and helped the New York Mets capture a World Series title in 1986. He would go on to throw a no-hitter as a member of the New York Yankees in 1996 and help them to a World Series that year. Gooden, also pitched for the Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros, and Tampa Bay Rays. He finished his career with 194 wins, 2,293 strikeouts, was inducted into the Mets' Hall of Fame in 2010, and will have his number 16 retired by the Mets this summer alongside former teammate Darryl Strawberry.
