Mariano Unveils 2024 Schedule

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The 2024 Pace University Men's Lacrosse season is right around the corner and head coach Tom Mariano is thrilled to announce the 2024 slate of games.

All home games for the Setters will be played on the Pleasantville campus at Northwell Stadium. Fans can watch all home games on NE10 NOW.

Last season, the Blue and Gold finished with a final record of 11-4.

The season begins the same as the 2023 season starting with, Molloy University. Pace will head to Rockville Centre to kick the season off on Feb. 28 at 4 p.m.

The Setters first home game is slated for Mar. 2 when Wilmington University (Del.) comes to Pleasantville for a 3:30 p.m. meeting. The game will also serve as the Setters Pace Goes Pink game.

Next up for the Setters will be a trip to Lakewood, N.J. for a Mar. 5 meeting with the Lions of Georgian Court University, with the first face-off set for 3 p.m.

Pace returns to Northwell Stadium on Mar. 9 for a noon match-up with Chestnut Hill University, which will also serve as the Setters HeadStrong Foundation game.

"The Headstrong Foundation was founded by Nicholas Colleluori before he passed from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma." Said Mariano "Nicholas played lacrosse at Hofstra and the foundation was created to improve lives affected by cancer.  The foundation offers financial, residential, and emotional support to families affected by cancer.  Cancer has affected many of us and Pace Lacrosse looks to support the Headstrong foundation.  Pace Lacrosse will wear Headstrong shoelaces and help raise awareness for the foundation."

The Blue and Gold will remain in Pleasantville for a week to open Northeast 10 play when the College of Saint Rose comes to Northwell Stadium for the Setters' One Love game.

"One Love Foundation is a national non-profit organization with the goal of ending relationship abuse. The men's and women's lacrosse team at Pace engage in workshops organized by the One Love Foundation."

The Setters next game will have them making the trek up to Rindge, NH. for the yearly meeting with Franklin Pierce University on Mar. 21 with a 1 p.m. start time.

Adelphi University is up next for the Setters, who will come to Northwell Stadium Mar. 29 for a 7 p.m. meeting under the lights on Section I night for Pace.

"We encourage all local lacrosse players from youth to high school to come out and see two of the top teams in Division 2 in an NE10 rival game. Pace is proud to have had many Section I stars play at Pace." Added Mariano.

April opens with a trip to Waltham, Ma. for a meeting with Bentley University on the third at 7 p.m.

Senior day follows up the meeting with Bentley, with the Setters welcoming the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire to Pleasantville on April 6 with a noon start.

The Setters will stay at home for its next contest, hosting Assumption University on Apr. 9 at 7 p.m. for the Blue and Gold's 15 For Life game.

"On March 16, 2021, Rob Kavovit took his own life while suffering from silent depression. The Kavovit Family funneled their grief into opening the dialogue around depression and mental matters." Said Mariano. "Our mission is to shed the shame around needing help and normalizing the conversation around mental health by creating awareness so that our loss may help others. Pace lacrosse as part of 15 for life, encourages our athletes to have dialogue with each other about valuing their physical wellness and mental wellness equally."

Apr. 13 sends Pace up to Colchester Vt. for a 10 am match-up with Saint Michael's College. The Setters will then welcome American International College to Northwell Stadium on the 17th before closing the regular season on the 23rd against the team who ended the Setters' season last year in the NE10 Championships, Saint Anselm College.

The NE10 Championships will run from Apr. 27 to Mar. 4 and will be played at the higher seeds venue in each game.
