PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University soccer team will play its final non-conference match of the season this week before continuing NE10 play over the weekend.
Pace will welcome the College of Staten Island to Northwell Stadium on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match. Over the weekend, Pace will travel to Rindge, NH for a Saturday match with Franklin Pierce University.
Last week the Setters went 1-1 but ended the week strong with a 1-0 shutout of Saint Michael's College behind a second half goal from
Shannon Selvaggio.
The Dolphins of CSI will face the Setters with a record of 2-3-4. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in recent history. The last time out for the Dolphins ended in a 1-0 loss to Roberts Wesleyan University, 1-0, after yielding an early goal and being unable to find the equalizer. Isabella Radovini has netted a team-high four goals for the Dolphins, including a two-goal performance against Felician University on Sept. 5. Jacquelyn D'Amico has dished out four assists to pace the team in that category.
As for the Ravens, they have won two of their last three matches to move to a record of 3-2-4 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play. The last time out for the Ravens ended in a 2-1 victory in conference play over Bentley University. When Pace and Franklin Pierce faced off last year, Franklin Pierce scored with less than a minute left to escape with a win. An offense by committee has been the way of the Ravens thus far, with goals coming from nine different players, with four of them scoring multiple goals.
