PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Former Pace University softball player Angela Locsin ('05) has been announced as a 2022 inductee into the Northeast-10 Conference's Hall of Fame, as announced by the league office on Thursday.
Â
Locsin becomes the Setters' first female inductee into the NE10 Hall of Fame and joins men's lacrosse alumni Andrew Wasik as Pace's two enshrined student-athletes. Â
Â
"To say I'm thrilled to be inducted into the NE10 Hall of Fame is an understatement," said Locsin. "I am elated, humbled, and honored to be part of an amazing group of athletes. Also, what an absolute shock that I am the first female athlete from Pace! In my graduating year alone, I knew of so many talented female athletes. I feel that this accomplishment couldn't have happened without an amazing coach, and incredible teammates."Â
Â
Loscin is widely considered the Setters' most prolific softball player as both a position player and a pitcher. Arriving at Pace from California, Locsin was the first player in Northeast-10 Conference history to be named both Player and Pitcher of the Year in the same season (2004). She put together a 19-8 record that season with a 1.00 ERA, while also batting .394 with a .500 on-base percentage. Â
Â
"I am forever grateful to all those who deemed me worthy to be a part of this Hall of Fame," Locsin added. "The news brought me back to so many incredible memories of my time at Pace University. I am truly honored."Â
Â
Locsin still currently holds program records in innings pitched (768.0), wins (78), strikeouts (480), complete games (91), shutouts (28) and saves (9). She also has the most shutouts in a single season when she piled up 11 of them in 2003. Â
Â
In addition to the pitching marks, Locsin was a career .331 hitter with 22 home runs (2
nd in program history) and 99 RBIs (6
th in program history). She is a five-time NE10 All-Conference selection, including the 2002 Rookie of the Year. Â
Â
To go along with the individual success, Locsin helped the Setters to the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship in 2002 and was named MVP of the tournament. Â
