PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University Athletics Department held a successful Alumni and Friends Golf Challenge this past Tuesday at Hudson Hills Golf Course in Ossining, N.Y.

The seventh annual event, presented by NewYork-Presbyterian, garnered 70 alumni, family, friends, coaches and staff and raised nearly $4,500 for Setters teams of their choice. The support from this year's attendees will help Pace coaches further enhance the student-athlete experience, and allows them to recruit some of the best student-athletes at this level.

Sponsors included the United Mineral & Chemical, Corporation at the Blue Level and Crown Castle as the event's cart sponsor. The Zabbia Insurance Agency sponsored the outing's hole-in-one contest.

Other sponsors included the Quinn family (women's lacrosse), Pax Surveying, The Middlebrook Family, Galluzzo Brothers Carting, Inc., DTS Provident, SSL CPA and JFK&M Consulting Group.

The outing had Pace Athletics alumni from the late 70s through 2019.

The foursome from Crown Castle, Patrick Manning, Matthew Capell, Connor Birchard and Matthew Yavorski took home first place after a thrilling tiebreaker between four foursomes. The four foursomes tied at 7-under, 64.

Coming out of the tiebreaker at second place was the foursome of Michael Mattone '07, Gregory Brain '10, Ken Marcous and Justin Polanis.

Also participating in the putt-off were the Pax Surveying foursome and the foursome of Jeremy Young '90, Owen Murray '90, Pat Fawcett '92 and Mike Woytusik '90.
