Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

No. 10 Men's Lacrosse Takes Down Franklin Pierce, 13-5

RINDGE, N.H. – A five-goal opening quarter, coupled with a first-half shutout were the catalysts for the 10th-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team to pick up a road victory over Franklin Pierce, 13-5, on Saturday afternoon.

The Setters improved their records to 8-2 overall and 4-2 in the NE10.

Kyle Casey (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) and Jake Veres (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville), who came into the game first and second in the NE10 in points, finished with six and four respectively. Both Setters scored three goals against the Ravens, while Casey also dispensed a game-high three assists.

The graduate student is now first in points (49) and assists (20) in the conference, and second in goals (29), but it is worth noting that he has played two less games than the player currently four goals ahead of him.

Casey's fellow Yorktown Heights-native, Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown), was staunch in net for the Blue and Gold, collecting an eighth win on the season following his fourth consecutive double-digit saves performance with 11 of the team's season-high of 15.

No goalkeeper in the NE10 has a better save percentage than Ragusa's 63.0.

In total, nine different Setters recorded at least one point, including freshman Andrew Llamas (Valhalla, N.Y./Westlake) who scored two goals within 90 seconds in the waning moments of the opening quarter to blow the game open.
