PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Fueled by a big second half, the 11
th-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team earned a 15-9 win over Assumption on Tuesday. The home triumph pushes the Setters' record to 9-2 this season, including a mark of 5-2 in the NE10.
Trailing by one goal at halftime, the Setters outscored Assumption by a 10-3 margin over the final 30 minutes. Additionally, Pace closed out the final 22:58 of regulation on a 6-1 run.
A trio of Setters registered five points apiece in the victory.
Jake Veres (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) found the back of the net five times, while
Kyle Casey (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) and
Tim Cairo (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) combined for five tallies and five assists.
Three other members of the Blue and Gold picked up multiple points on Tuesday.
Juniors
Anthony Caputo (Westbury, N.Y./W.T Clarke) and
Marcus Ottaviano (Ontario, Canada/Nichols School) each recorded a goal and an assist while sophomore
Rafael Rodriguez, Jr. (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) posted three points on two goals and an assist.
Senior goalkeeper
Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) was once again stout in between the pipes. The Yorktown Heights, N.Y. native piled up 10 saves to mark his seventh double-digit effort of the year.
