PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In the final game of their regular season, the ninth-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team rattled off a 15-5 win over Saint Rose on Saturday. The dominant triumph improves the Setters' record to 11-3 this season, including 7-3 versus NE10 foes.
It was a strong start for the home team that set the tone on Saturday. Pace raced out to a 7-0 lead less than mid-way through the first quarter.
Senior
Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) put together another superb performance in net for the Blue and Gold. The Yorktown Heights native yielded just five goals, while piling up 14 stops.
It has been an excellent stretch for Ragusa who has registered 55 saves over his last three contests.
Nine different Setters scored against Saint Rose—highlighted by a career-best performance from senior
Tim Cairo (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River). The Long Island native totaled eight points off four goals and four assists.
Junior
Anthony Caputo (Westbury, N.Y./W.T Clarke) logged four points of his own courtesy of two goals and two assists, while
Rafael Rodriguez, Jr. (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) and
Walker Azzaro (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra) also found the back of the net twice.
